Jim Tiffany
President
“We’ve created Sightpath Medical by bringing together three robust businesses into one: MSS, the largest cataract outsourcing organization in the United States; LaserVision, the nation’s largest provider of refractive access services; and Notal Vision, a leader in the development of diagnostic technologies for age-related macular degeneration. Our goal is to provide eye care professionals with the highest quality products and services so they may provide the highest quality vision care possible.”
Jim’s career at Sightpath began when he joined MSS in 2000 as Vice President and General Manager. He has been responsible for leading the staff through the successful transition to a publicly traded company and subsidiary of TLC Vision Corporation. In 2003, Jim was promoted to MSS President. Under Jim’s leadership, MSS has become the largest cataract outsourcing company in the United States. The number of procedures performed each year has nearly tripled since his tenure began and continues to rise with acquisitions and the implementation of new growth strategies. Jim received his B.A. from Arizona State University in 1979 and his M.B.A. from Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri in 1993. He has held various management positions during his 25 years in the ophthalmic industry at companies such as Bausch & Lomb, Storz and LVCI. Jim enjoys hunting and fishing in his spare time. He and his fabulous wife Marianne live in Chanhassen and have two children, Ryan and Liz who are both in college.

Dick Minors
Director of Key Accounts & Sales Administration
Dick Minors started his Sightpath career with MSS in January, 2001. He held the positions of Director of Sales and Vice President of Sales during his first seven years, helping to lead the MSS sales team to record growth and territory expansion in, primarily, the Cataract Services business. Recently, with MSS expanding from that business to include the Fixed & RORO LASIK business and the Notal Vision Diagnostic Products for AMD, Dick has now assumed the Director of Key Accounts and Sales Administration position, interfacing with each of these businesses.
Dick graduated from Drake University in 1969 with a B.A. in Journalism. While there, Dick was the Advertising Manager for the Drake yearbook, and played varsity baseball on scholarship. He held various sales management positions in his 20 years prior to MSS with Baxter Labs, Bausch & Lomb’s Storz Instruments and Boston Scientific. Dick has been happily married for 39 years, has three incredible, adult daughters and five very active grandchildren.

Tony Bowar
Director of Finance
Tony and his staff of 11 are responsible for all financial aspects of Sightpath’s MSS division including accounts payable, accounts receivable, cash management, inventory, and financial statement and budget preparation. He also has financial reporting responsibility for LaserVision (refractive access) and OR Partners (ASC business). Having started with Sightpath within the MSS brand in 1997, Tony has been instrumental in the transition from a small, privately held entity to a multi-million dollar, publicly held subsidiary of TLCVision Corporation.
Tony holds a B.A. in Accounting from St. John’s University where he also played baseball. He is currently enrolled in the M.B.A. program at Augsburg College in Minneapolis, scheduled to graduate in June 2009. Tony is an avid sports fan and continues to work at his goal of seeing a game in each major league baseball stadium. He resides in Burnsville, MN with his wife and two children.

Dan Robins
Vice President of Operations
Dan joined Sightpath in December of 1998 first as a Laser Engineer with LaserVision and later holding the positions of Senior Engineer; North East Operations Manager; Manager of Recruitment, Staff Development and Research; Director of Senior Engineering and Research; and National Director of Access Operations. He moved into his current position as Vice President of Operations in January of 2006 where he was responsible for all day-to-day operations of the mobile refractive program at TLCVision.
Dan is now responsible for all mobile refractive and mobile cataract operations for Sightpath Medical. He manages seven Operations Directors who, in turn, oversee 60 Surgical Technicians, 39 Mobile Laser Engineers, 22 LASIK Technicians, 11 internal support staff and inventory, nine Senior Operations Specialists and six SLT technicians.
Dan began his career in operations and logistics while serving in the United States Army as an Avenger Missile System Technician from 1989-1997. He holds an AAS in Laser Electro-Optics and is finishing his B.A. in Business Management from Missouri Baptist. He resides in St. Louis, MO with his wife, Sandra, and two sons, David and Matthew.

Heather Pfeiffer
Director of Marketing, Corporate Branding and Surgical Services
Heather Pfeiffer joined Sightpath in March, 2006 as Director of Marketing for MSS and later had responsibility for the launch of the Foresee PHP commercial device. Heather successfully leads Sightpath in marketing strategy and execution, with primary responsibility for the MSS and LaserVision divisions. Heather is also responsible for Sightpath corporate branding.
Heather’s previous professional experience included designing loyalty and coalition programs, developing online surveys, creating marketing pieces, and directing multimedia campaigns for such companies and brands as United Airlines, Nokia, Haagen-Dazs, Fingerhut, DirecTV, ESPN, BMW, and Vision-Ease. Just previous to MSS, Heather was VP of Business Development for Reshare Corporation.
Heather graduated Magna Cum Laude from Kenyon College with a B.A. in Psychology and Departmental Honors in Spanish Literature. She has completed additional marketing and writing coursework at the University of Minnesota and The Loft Literary Center. Heather and her husband, Richard, live in Minneapolis with their daughter, Natalie, and cat, Stanley. She is an avid runner with a passion for cooking.

Mark Traffas
Director of Marketing and Product Development, Foresee PHP Technologies
Mark Traffas joined the company in 2007 as the Director of Marketing and Product Development. He is responsible for the strategic and tactical marketing of the Foresee PHP, our clinic based device used by eye care professionals to detect the onset of Wet Age-Related Macular Degeneration (AMD). He is also responsible for the upcoming launch of our new product for home AMD monitoring for patients, the ForeseeHome AMD Monitor.
Mark began his career as a sales representative for Merck & Co., Inc., where he had his first exposure to the ophthalmic industry. Subsequently, he held positions of increasing responsibility in sales, marketing and sales management. Mark then joined Medtronic, Inc. where he gained extensive experience in upstream and downstream marketing, as well as business development. Most recently, Mark led the Cardiovascular marketing efforts at Vital Images in Minnetonka, MN.
Mark earned a B.S. in Pharmacy, as well as his M.B.A., from the University of Minnesota and is a Registered Pharmacist. He and his wife, Debbie, have two daughters, one at college and one still at home.

Garrett O’Connell
Director of Business Development
Garrett O’Connell joined the Sightpath team in August 2006 as Director of Business Development for MSS. Garrett joined the organization to lead the new product distribution segment of the business when Sightpath became the exclusive U.S. distributor for Notal Vision.
Garrett brings 19 years of ophthalmic sales and sales management experience to MSS from prior positions with Optos, Laser Diagnostic Technologies, Zeiss, Bausch & Lomb Surgical, and Storz Instrument Co.
Garrett holds a B.S. in Business Administration with a major in Marketing from St. Louis University. He is a husband and father of four daughters who remains active in his spare time playing ice hockey, soccer and golf.

Tom Ferguson
West Regional Business Director
Tom joined Sightpath in June of 2000 after LaserVision purchased he and his partner, Chad Lockfield’s company, Southeast Medical Distributors, Inc. He was an independent representative within the MSS brand until 2005 when he assumed a position of Western Regional Business Director. He is currently managing both Access Sales Consultants and Product Sales Consultants in the West and Midwest United States.
Tom received his B.S. degree from Northeast Louisiana University in 1975. His past experience was with Allergan Pharmaceuticals and Advanced Medical Optics. He has two stepsons and six grandchildren. In his spare time, he enjoys golfing, fishing and hiking.

Jim Santavicca
East Regional Business Director
Jim Santavicca began his career with Sightpath in 2000 as a Regional Business Consultant with MSS covering seven states in the Great Lakes Region. He led the company in sales performance in 2002, 2003, 2004 and 2006. In 2006, Jim was promoted to Regional Business Director covering 25 states in the eastern half of the U.S. He currently manages seven sales territories made up of direct and independent Access Sales Consultants for the MSS and LaserVision brands as well as five sales territories made up of direct Product Sales Consultants for the Foresee PHP and Foresee Home products.
Prior to joining the Sightpath team, Jim spent over 10 years with Rockwell Automation in various sales positions. He then began his journey in the medical industry by providing surgical lasers to ophthalmologists, plastic surgeons, podiatrists and ENT’s. This position led to direct involvement with O.R. Providers, a cataract service provider that was acquired by MSS in 2000. With over fourteen years experience in sales and sales management in the medical industry, Jim is well equipped to lead his sales team. He has been married for 15 years and has one daughter and three sons.

Richard L. Lindstrom, M.D.
Medical Director
"MSS's highly skilled surgical technicians provide significant value to the quality of care."
Richard L. Lindstrom, M.D. is a recognized leader in corneal, cataract, refractive, and laser surgery. He holds 36 patents in ophthalmology, including intraocular lens implant technology, corneal preservation, irrigation solutions, viscoelastic solutions, intracorneal lenses, and associated instruments.
Dr. Lindstrom is founder and attending surgeon at Minnesota Eye Consultants, P.A. He has co-edited six books on ophthalmology and has published over 300 articles in refereed journals, over 50 chapters in ophthalmology-related books and given 30 named lectures. He is an internationally recognized speaker and active on multiple editorial boards.
Dr. Lindstrom received the first lifetime achievement award of the International Society of Refractive Surgery, where he has served as program chair, president-elect and president. He has also served as president of the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery, The International Intraocular Implant Club and the International Refractive Surgery Club. He is a pioneer in the ophthalmic field and an asset to Sightpath.
