While attending the ACOS WINTER MEETING in Aspen, Sightpath MoFe customer Bill Wiley, MD, sat down with Robert Weinstock, MD, to discuss the features they like best of each femtosecond laser platform. Drs. Wiley and Weinstock have had experience with the LenSx Laser (Alcon), VICTUS (Bausch + Lomb), Catalys (AMO), and LENSAR Laser (LENSAR), as well as the corneal incisions with the IntraLase FS Laser (AMO). Finally, both doctors point out the features they like best in each platform and game-changing enhancements that would make the ideal laser such as integrated pre- and intraoperative data.
A research team composed of scientists from the Philippines, United Kingdom, and the United States found that – compared to manual clear corneal incisions (CCI) – femtosecond laser-constructed incisions achieve better wound sealability, a quality that may reduce the risk of surgical complications.
