Sightpath Medical Announces Organizational Realignment – Sales and Marketing Departments Combine

Sightpath Medical, the nation’s leading provider of mobile and fixed ophthalmic surgical service solutions, is pleased to announce a restructuring of the Sales and Marketing departments in acknowledgement of the cooperative nature of their working relationship.

“Within the Sightpath organization, the sales and marketing departments have always worked hand-in-hand to identify opportunities and support our customers,” said Jim Tiffany, President and CEO. “Marketing really functions in a role to support the demand created by our sales force, and to provide them with the tools to generate that demand. To formalize how we work, an organizational realignment of the two departments seemed to make sense.”

As a result of this restructuring, Joel Gaslin has been promoted to Vice President of Sales and Marketing. In his new position, Joel will work to further integrate the company’s sales and marketing efforts and provide strategic vision for a cooperative company promotion strategy. Nicole Monacell’s Marketing role was also expanded to include direction of the inside sales team.

“I look forward to furthering the collaborative relationship between sales and marketing at Sightpath,” said Joel Gaslin, Vice President of Sales and Marketing. “My personal philosophy is that marketing should strive to understand what is important to the sales team and work to support them. In turn, the sales team should communicate closely with Marketing to facilitate the development of useful tools and market-driven strategies.”

Joel Gaslin has been involved in the ophthalmic industry since 1991, serving in a variety of sales, marketing and management roles for industry leaders such as Storz, Medtronic, Precision Lens, and Midwest Surgical Services, the company that later became Sightpath Medical. Joel has demonstrated expertise in defining business development strategy, corporate reorganization and the introduction of new products and services to the marketplace. Through executing a cooperative sales strategy with the physician at the core, and a commitment to providing exceptional service, Joel anticipates leading the Sightpath Medical Sales & Marketing Team to new levels of success and increased market share.

Nicole Monacell began her career in the ophthalmic industry with a Marketing position at Sightpath Medical (formerly Midwest Surgical Services) in 2002. Throughout her career as a business development professional, and now in her role as Director of Marketing and Inside Sales, Nicole remains focused on promoting a unified Marketing, Sales and Operations strategy. Her role will focus on conveying the Sightpath brand in a manner that is reflective of the company mission, while providing partnering physicians and facilities a competitive advantage in the marketplace.
