Sightpath Medical said it aims to debut its mobile femtosecond laser for use in cataract surgery early this year. The MoFeTM service suite, which is targeted for a national rollout throughout the year, features an intra-operative wavefront aberrometer, a femtosecond laser and a certified laser engineer.
A research team composed of scientists from the Philippines, United Kingdom, and the United States found that – compared to manual clear corneal incisions (CCI) – femtosecond laser-constructed incisions achieve better wound sealability, a quality that may reduce the risk of surgical complications.
