We spoke with Dr. Donald Downer about what it’s like to start offering laser-assisted cataract surgery. What implementation challenges did he experience? And does he recommend taking the plunge?
Donald Downer, MD, is a surgeon at Clay Eye Physicians and Surgeons and a member of Sightpath’s Clinical Advisory Group (CAG). He specializes in laser assisted cataract surgery, traditional cataract surgery, lifestyle intraocular lenses, diseases of the cornea, corneal transplantation, ocular surface reconstruction and ocular infectious disease. He is also an adjunct professor at the University of Florida.
