Late last month, Sightpath Medical announced the release of a series of fitness articles for ophthalmic professionals as a way to help alleviate physical stress and discomfort surgeons may encounter during their day.
The fitness series, “Restoring Proper Posture,” is available online and was created with the help of certified personal trainer and nutrition coach Kirk McFarland, CPT, NASM, NSCA, of Life Time Fitness in Eden Prairie, Minn. The series provides tips for younger ophthalmic surgeons on how to avoid physical stress and strain, and offers those later in their career ways to correct or alleviate symptoms.
A research team composed of scientists from the Philippines, United Kingdom, and the United States found that – compared to manual clear corneal incisions (CCI) – femtosecond laser-constructed incisions achieve better wound sealability, a quality that may reduce the risk of surgical complications.
Sightpath Medical will be at the ASCRS Annual Meeting in Boston, MA, May 15 – 19, 2020. Here at Sightpath, we believe eye care providers deserve access to affordable, state-of-the-art technologies and highly qualified certified technologists regardless of location.
